CLIMATE CONDITIONS OF CZERNIAWA-ZDROJ

Mountain, moderately incentive climate is characterized by a smaller amplitude of extreme temperatures, low thermal contrasts, and heavy rainfall. During 212 days of the year, there is 1073 mm of rainfall. The horizon covered by the surrounding hills limits the inflow of solar radiation. Uneven heating of mountain slopes contributes to the formation of local air circulation. Rural and guest house buildings are sheltered by peaks reaching over 1000 m.a.s.l. Spa activity began here in the nineteenth century. The village was founded in the seventeenth century as a settlement of Czech religious refugees in the area of old glassworks.
