To visit the most interesting parts of Siechnice commune, adjacent to the south-eastern edges of Wroclaw, it is best not to use a car but a bicycle. The proximity of the capital of Lower Silesia makes traversing the region on two wheels much easier. The most interesting routes lead deep into the territory of Siechnice commune right from the borders of Wroclaw. There is also a good rail connection that allows easy and safe transport of equipment to the starting point. Then you only need to get on a bike and hit the road. Several dozen kilometres of routes should satisfy everyone – both those who prefer quiet, family sightseeing trips and amateurs of travelling on the winding and bumpy forest paths. In this respect, the most interesting will probably be Siechnice-Kotowice forests perfectly suited as recreational areas. You should not forget about the 40-metre observation tower in Kotowice (the Utrata hamlet) lying right on the banks of the Odra River, from which you can admire a beautiful view of the surrounding areas and three lakes created in the oxbow of the Odra and Olawa Rivers (Black Backwater, Maiden and Virgin). Cycling path leads through surrounding villages and towns where there are many monuments we recommend to see. It is enough to mention the church of St. Catherine of Alexandria (13th century) and the historical monastery and hospital complex of the sisters from the Congregation of Christ the Good Shepherd (19th / 20th century) in Swieta Katarzyna, and medieval penitential crosses in Siechnice and Groblice.
