Narrow Gauge Railway in Krosnice

Krosnice Narrow Gauge Railway is a park railway and one of the biggest tourist attractions of Krosnice and the surrounding area. It is not surprising because the view of the smoking steam engine and the journey along a nearly 3-kilometer route among rustling trees and singing birds does not happen often.

The cable car runs in the season from May to the end of September on the premises of Krosnice – Wierzchowice Palace and Park Complex where several hiking trails run as well. During the week, diesel locomotive operates the tours while at weekends there is a steam engine locomotive.

There are 5 smaller stations on the route.

The pride of Krosnice rolling stock is the Px48-1907 steam locomotive manufactured in 1955 at the Locomotive Factory in Chrzanow. It is also worth mentioning that the same steam locomotive used to travel around Milicz.

Krosnice Railway is one of the few active narrow-gauge railways preserved in Poland. It is also an ideal place for school groups that often combine their stay with the offer of the Environmental Education Centre in Krosnice participating in numerous workshops.
The main station building houses the Tourist Information Centre and a bar. Next to the station, there are two exhibition steam engine locomotives. Near the main station there is a barbecue shed, recreational pond with a place for bathing, open in July and August, boat and pedal boat rental, as well as a playground and children’s area (bouncing castles, dry pool, battery cars, paddle boats).
