The statutory tasks of the Association include the broadly understood promotion of Lower Silesia, as a region with an excellent location on the border with Germany and the Czech Republic, also as a region characterized by a diverse natural landscape and a wealth of magnificent monuments of Silesian history and culture. The aim of our activities is to promote the region and create a positive image of Lower Silesia as a land worth visiting and exploring, a region attractive to tourists. The main statutory goal of DOT - supporting the development of tourism and conducting the promotion of Lower Silesia - is implemented through such activities as:

• creating a positive image of the region from the point of view of tourism in the country and abroad
• organizing and developing activities for the tourist promotion of Lower Silesia and the development of tourism
• creation of an integrated, regional tourist information system
• research and analysis of tourist traffic in Lower Silesia
• initiating and supporting plans for the development and modernization of tourist infrastructure
• training and development of staff for tourism purposes
• inspiring and participating in the creation of local tourist organizations in municipalities and counties

To carry out these tasks, we obtain funds from budget subsidies for commissioned tasks, we accept orders for promotional activities for companies in the tourism industry. Thanks to the funds obtained, we can conduct promotional activities for the region, we participate in domestic and foreign tourism fairs, prepare promotional publications, organize study trips for journalists or foreign travel agencies, and we also undertake extensive training and educational activities to improve staff for tourism purposes.
