SUICIDE ROOM

SUICIDE ROOM is a 2011 Polish psychological drama directed by Jan Komasa, based on his own screenplay. Dominik is an ordinary teenager. He has many friends, the prettiest girlfriend in school, wealthy parents, and money for clothes, gadgets, and parties. But one kiss changes everything. “She” approaches him online — intriguing, dangerous, and cunning. She introduces him to the “Suicide Room,” a place with no escape. Trapped by his own feelings and caught in a deadly intrigue, Dominik is about to lose what is most precious in his life.

For the first time in Polish cinema, the virtual world of avatars plays as important a role as the real-world acting. The animated “second life” of the main character Dominik was created over more than a year. The shocking story and brilliant performances make this film suitable only for viewers with strong nerves. The virtual “Suicide Room” is modeled on the then-popular online platform Second Life.
