In the Footsteps of Piast History

The Castle of the Silesian Piasts on Ostrów Tumski is one of the oldest historical sites in Wroclaw, dating back to the 12th century. It served as the residence of the Piast princes and was an important administrative center of the region. Over the centuries it witnessed important political events, underwent numerous reconstructions and changes of owners, and today its relics remind us of the splendor of the old days.

Thanks to years of archaeological research, preserved fragments of the castle have been discovered and are now open to the public. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of Wroclaw and see the remains of the former princely residence. The castle’s underground can be visited individually and with a guide. The entrance is located in the Notre Dame House building at 12 St. Martin Street.
