It is a place aimed at direct contact of tourists with the process of pottery production. Every year it welcomes thousands of tourists from Poland and abroad, who want to see with their own eyes the process of making stoneware and try their own production during ceramic workshops.

The new building will allow to conduct ceramic workshops for larger groups of participants, up to 50 people at a time, in comfortable conditions. The largest workshop room has 8 spacious work tables and facilities for working with ceramics, among other things, in the form of sinks. The second room for workshops is more intimate – with 3 tables and a chill out area. In addition, there is a culinary workshop with kitchen facilities allowing to organize culinary classes there, intimate parties, tastings or prepare catering for various events. The third room is a café, which, together with an adjacent terrace, creates a relaxing space for visitors to the Living Museum of Ceramics and the company’s stores in Boleslawiec Manufaktura.

In industrial style

The building was designed by well-known Warsaw architect Mateusz Trojanowski. The designer was inspired by the industrial character of the place, hence many elements typical of loft, austere design: metal racks of tables and shelves, glazed metal partition walls and doors between individual rooms, or solid wooden table tops. In the culinary workshop and in the chill out area, elements appear in navy blue – obviously associated with the cobalt so often used on Boleslawiec ceramics. In the café and terrace, in turn, we have a mix of light, colorful furniture – chairs, poufs and low tables – with furniture of recycled origin, including tables made of wooden pallets. Crockery from the Boleslawiec Manufaktura will, of course, appear here as decoration. There will also be films and multimedia presentations about Boleslawiec ceramics.

Creative recreation

The new building not only makes it possible to organize ceramic workshops in comfortable conditions and accommodate even larger groups of tourists, but also opens up many other possibilities. As Pawel Zwierz of Manufaktura in Boleslawiec announces, in the future not only classes in ceramic making and decorating are to be organized here, but also other creative workshops: handicraft, floristry or culinary. “We want to gradually create a diverse program of events here, attractive not only to tourists, but also to residents of Boleslawiec and the surrounding areas. We have ideas for weekend creative events, which could be a great idea, for example, for residents of Wroclaw or Poznan for a short trip out of town with the whole family.”
