Gold panning workshops
Gold has captured people's imagination for centuries. Everyone has probably heard of the gold rush in America. We created a semblance of such a gold rush in the Wielisław Mill in the Land of Extinct Volcanoes. Why here? Well, because gold occurs in our region, and in considerable quantities. The Kaczawa River is a gold-bearing river, and in Wielisławka in the 16th and 17th centuries there was a gold mine, after which adits remain. During the workshops, conducted together with the Brotherhood of Gold Miners from Złotoryja, participants take positions with the so-called panning set - a panning bowl and a bucket with sand, in which gold particles are hidden. After panning the gold particles, participants take them with them. The fun is preceded by a talk about gold and a demonstration of how to use the bowl correctly.
