Painting on a board
Workshops dedicated to every age group, during which each participant can feel like a real artist, painting on a board or trying to bake bread using traditional methods. The open-air museum is also a place where you can visit and see what everyday life in the countryside looked like.

We provide appropriately prepared boards, paints, brushes, cups for water, ready-made templates for copying on wood with floral, folk and holiday motifs, but above all we count on the participants' own invention and ingenuity.

Participants will also learn a short history of the tradition of painting on wood. While the finished works are waiting to dry, we invite participants of the classes on a tour of the open-air museum, showing what everyday life in the countryside looked like. After returning, participants take their works with them, having a unique, original souvenir from the open-air museum.

Baking bread "From grain - through flour to loaf"
Baking bread using traditional methods.

– introduction to the subject of bread in folk tradition,
– preparation of bread dough from leaven in a kneading bowl,
– during the rising of the bread dough, participants are introduced to the history of agriculture and the evolution of agricultural tools,
– kneading and shaping of loaves by participants,
– stories about harvesting grain, methods of threshing and cleaning grain from chaff (opportunity to try your hand at threshing with a flail),
– cleaning the bread oven from the embers,
– “painting”, sprinkling and feeding the loaves into the oven (participants’ participation),
– a trip to the windmill and grinding grain on the millstones,
– taking the loaves out of the bread oven,
– tasting of freshly baked bread with lard and tea.
