Program

Day 1: Departure according to the timetable (participants meet 15 minutes before departure), transfer to Jelenia Góra. The city's picturesque setting will be appreciated by anyone who has ever seen the panorama of the Old Town against the backdrop of the Karkonosze Mountains. The town hall building rises in the center of the market square, and the entire square is surrounded by Baroque tenement houses with arcades, testifying to its commercial role. A fountain with a sculpture of Neptune stands right next to the town hall. The Gothic church, dedicated to the city's patron saints, Saints Erasmus and Pancras, features Renaissance and Baroque interiors. Transfer to the hotel, dinner, check-in, and overnight stay. Day 2: After breakfast, we'll take the chairlift to the upper station on Szrenica (1,365 m above sea level), where you can admire beautiful views of the Karkonosze Mountains from the viewing platform. We'll also visit Szklarska Poręba, known as the town of the Mountain Spirit, whose metal figure stands in the town center, on Radio Trójka Square. You can explore the town by hiking the Magic Trail of the Mountain Spirit. Then, we'll set off on a mountain hike along the trails of the Karkonosze National Park (selected by the guide, depending on the group's physical abilities). 1. The Kamieńczyk Waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Polish Karkonosze Mountains, and its charm and fairytale atmosphere were appreciated by Andrew Adamson, the director of the British production "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian." Or 2. A walk through the Szklarka Gorge is also unforgettable, with the Szklarka Waterfall in its central section, cascading down in a narrowing, spiraling cascade. Transfer to the hotel, dinner, overnight stay. Day 3: After breakfast, we'll travel to Karpacz. The town's most interesting landmark is the Evangelical Wang Church, built entirely of wood, without nails, at the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries in the Norwegian town of Wang. Next, we'll travel to Kowary. Here, we'll visit one of over twenty tunnels of the R-1 Industrial Plant, which specializes in uranium ore exploration and extraction. We'll learn about the history of mining in Lower Silesia, which has been associated with the extraction of minerals, ores, iron, silver, and uranium ore for over 800 years. Transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Day 4: After breakfast and checking out, we'll head to the Chojnik Mountain area. The stone castle atop it is a popular hiking destination, and the panorama from the castle tower is among the most beautiful in the entire Jelenia Góra Valley. Departure for the return journey, arriving in the evening.
