Program

Day 1: Departure according to the timetable (participants meet 15 minutes before departure), transfer to Ząbkowice Śląskie. In the 16th century, when the city was under the rule of Prince Charles I of Poděbrady, special attention was paid to urban development. Some of the tenement houses built then, after several reconstructions, have survived to this day. Ząbkowice Town Hall, however, is the sixth building to be erected on the same site since the city's founding. One of the more mysterious structures in the city is the leaning tower, about which numerous stories circulate. One says that the tower served as the bell tower of St. Anne's Church, where Charles I and his wife were buried. The well-preserved coat of arms of the prince is located on the gate tower leading to the ruins of a Renaissance castle. The castle in Ząbkowice was said to be home to the Frankenstein monster, whose vile practices claimed the lives of over 2,000 people until he was struck down by divine justice. Transfer to the hotel, dinner, accommodation, overnight stay Day 2: After breakfast, we'll head to Złoty Stok. The town's biggest tourist attraction is the gold mine, which was still in operation half a century ago. The townhouses, town hall, and mint, which still stand as testament to the town's former glory, are the preserved tenement houses, town hall, and mint. Next, we'll visit Lądek-Zdrój, a unique place thanks to its hot spa springs, unique mountain microclimate, and rich history dating back to the 13th century. The spa town owes much to Princess Marianna of Orange. She funded the construction of an Evangelical church near the market square, which is now in ruins. Next to the church, an obelisk commemorates the duchess's funding of the road from Ząbkowice Śląskie to the Płoszczyzna Pass. In the spa park, we'll encounter the Albrechtshalle pavilion, named after Marianna's husband, and a spring bearing her name. The central part of the market square is occupied by the neo-Renaissance town hall, next to which a historic pillory remains. The town's splendor is evidenced by the Renaissance and Baroque townhouses still preserved around the market square. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the castle on a rock in Trzebieszowice was one of the greatest attractions in the Kłodzko region. It was a popular destination not only for spa guests from Lądek but also for tourists traveling to the spa. King Wilhelm III of Prussia celebrated his birthday at the castle. Transfer to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay. Day 3: After breakfast and check-out, we'll travel to Kamieniec Ząbkowicki. In the mid-13th century, the Augustinian monastery in Kamieniec was taken over by the Cistercians, who began building a church and monastery buildings according to their own principles. A century later, the Kamieniec monastery was a significant economic, cultural, and political force. Following the secularization of the order in the 19th century, a large portion of the monastery's assets passed into the hands of Marianna of Orange. At her initiative, a striking architectural design, impressive in its grandeur, size, and opulence, was created – a romantic palace and garden complex. A new church, known as the castle church, was also built near the palace. Departure for the return journey, arriving in the evening.
