The cycling festival on September 26 and 27, 2026, in the Jizera Mountains, with the start and finish line in Szklarska Poręba-Jakuszyce, will be unique. A highlight of the program will be the Polish MTB Marathon Championships over 105 km. The event is organized by the Bieg Piastów Association.

Participants in the 12th Piast Cycling Race will compete in races ranging from 300 meters to 105 kilometers. Two weeks before the event, over 1,300 competitors are registered. As the event approaches, registrations will increase, so organizers expect approximately 2,000 participants.

They can choose from MINI (approximately 20 km), MEGA (45 km), GIGA, and GRAVEL (over 90 km) races. For competitive riders, there’s the Short Track – a spectacular race on a short course full of obstacles with high cash prizes, as well as the Polish MTB Marathon Championships, featuring the country’s top riders.

The competition will be based at the Polana Jakuszycka Lower Silesian Sports Center in Szklarska Poręba. Here, you’ll be able to collect your bib numbers, use the locker room, and start your run, and then relax, shower, and grab a bite to eat afterward.

The Piastów Bicycle Run routes will show competitors the most beautiful parts of the Polish part of the Jizera Mountains, including the Jizera Valley Peat Bog Nature Reserve, Jagnięcy Jar, as well as Rozdroże pod Dział Izerski and the Plane na Cichej Równi route, famous especially among cross-country skiers. The trail surfaces are mostly natural, although there are also long asphalt sections. There is no shortage of demanding descents and climbs. What’s new is the use of singletracks – narrow, technically demanding routes. Driving on them will certainly diversify the competition, but all participants must remember to be careful.

As always, the Piast Run will not forget about children, with Cycling Adventures (300 and 1000 meters) organized on both days. The youngest participants, who also competed in their respective distances in the Piast Summer Run and Piast Bike Run, will receive prizes for winning the Jakuszycki Junior Szlam.

The 12th Piast Bicycle Run will be an opportunity for a pleasant ceremony of awarding the Grand Jakuszycki Szlam statuettes to the competitors who in 2026 will complete the Ultra distance (50 km) of the 14th Summer Piast Run and the Giga distance of the 12th Piast Bicycle Run, as well as those who completed the winter Piast Run 50 km.

A new addition is the Morning Cycling and Bike Breakfast. Encouraged by the success of the Breakfast Run during the 14th Summer Piast Run, the organizers invite cyclists on Friday (September 25) at 9:00 a.m. for a recreational 25 km ride, followed by a shared breakfast at the Bornit Hotel. This means that for the first time, the Piast Bike Run will last three days, instead of two, as in previous years.

There’s also a rich supporting program: on Saturday, panel discussions at DCS Polana Jakuszycka with the participation of the outstanding cyclist Dominika Niemiec and cycling diet specialist Piotr Kasiński. There will also be a charity event, run in partnership with “Moja Fundacja,” entitled “A Mental Step into Adulthood for Children from Orphanages,” glass engraving workshops with the Julia Crystal Glassworks in Piechowice, an ecological field game about bats, “KGHM – Upside Down Forest,” promotional zones for event partners and sponsors, and a bicycle wash called Rowerowe Spa Fenwick’s.
