We cordially invite you to an exhibition of paintings by Ryszard Tyszkiewicz entitled. “Carried by Fog”, which will be held at the Natural History Museum in Jelenia Góra. The exhibition will be open from February 7 to May 18, 2025. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in painterly interpretations of misty landscapes and discover the artist’s unique style. Don’t miss this extraordinary exhibition!
My inspiration is the place where I live – the Jelenia Góra Basin, the Giant Mountains. Their rocks, forests, fields, mountains, each having its own story, tale, fairy tale. Especially the latter I tried to bring to life in my paintings. In this way I created a world with its own biological rhythm, set in motion by the unknown, mysterious force of my – our – Karkonosze land.
That’s what this series of paintings is – a fairy tale, a mystery, nature brought to life in an unprecedented way.

Mountain Spirit. It sits comfortably in our local culture and iconography in various forms, but goes far beyond the imposed, cramped forms of popular understanding. The Mountain Spirit is not just a figure, a demon roaming among the hills, the image of an ancient idol, but also the Soul of the Giant Mountains, the essence of our sky-climbing, forest-swept rocky homeland – a Soul that permeates all of nature. Its power can be seen with the naked eye and its call can be heard, in wild sounds carried by the mist.

In 1977 he graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts in Jelenia Góra. From 1978 to 1980, he was a student of Jerzy Duda – Gracz. He created sculptures, posters (including for Krystian Lupa’s plays “On Foot” and “Pragmatists”), but above all he paints. He presented his works at 28 individual and 42 collective exhibitions at home and abroad. In the 1980s he was a member of the “Zadra” group.
