The pass is located in the eastern Karkonosze Mountains and rises to a height of 1046 m above sea level.
In addition to hiking trails, there is also an asphalt road connecting Jelenia Góra and Trutnov, which, due to the scenic qualities of the route, makes it one of the greatest attractions for people who want to take advantage of the charms of the mountains without parting with their motorcycle or bicycle. In Okraj, there is an impressive divergence of tourist routes, opening the way for exploring the entire Karkonosze Mountains – on foot, by bike or on skis – both on the Polish and Czech side of the mountains. All the more important are the shelters located on the Pass, which are perfect as a starting point: both – the Polish Na Przełęcz Okraj and the Czech Pomezní bouda – have a buffet and more or less 40 beds. If you add the excellently prepared slopes – in Mala Upa alone there are 8 lifts for skiers and snowboarders – it is impossible to assume that someone might be bored in the vicinity of the Okraj Pass.
