Walim Adits “RIESE” Centrum Turystyki i Kultury in Walim

From 1943, in the area of ​​the  Sowie Mountains, the Germans carried out large-scale construction works
under the code name “Riese” (“Giant”).

The construction has not been completed and its remnant is a series

objects shrouded in mystery as to their destination. There are hypotheses that it could have been it

construction of underground arms factories or quarters for the Supreme Command of the Third Reich.

The 500-meter underground tourist route has been enriched with audiovisual effects

until the Second World War and works carried out while drilling corridors.

 

The facility is open daily:

In the months of October to April:

from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am, last admission at 4:00 pm,

Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 am, last admission at 5:00 pm.

 

In the months of May to September:

from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m., last admission at 5:00 p.m.

Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 am, last admission at 6:00 pm.

 

The facility is closed on Easter Sunday, November 1 and December 24-25.

Easter Saturday and December 31, last admission at 2:00 p.m.

New Year’s Day open from 11:00.
